Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP), the Department of Defense is announcing the Multiple Sclerosis Research Program (MSRP) Awards. Four award programs are available:
- The FY22 Early Investigator Research Award supports research opportunities for individuals in the early stages of their careers, under the guidance of one or more designated Mentors such as Post-Doctoral Fellows
The FY22 Investigator-Initiated Research Award supports highly rigorous, high-impact research projects that have the potential to make an important contribution to Multiple Sclerosis research and/or patient care
- The FY22 Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award supports the initial exploration of innovative, high-risk, high-gain, and potentially groundbreaking concepts
- The FY22 Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of multiple sclerosis.
DEADLINE:
- FY22 Early Investigator Research Award - Pre-Application (1 page): August 2, 2022, submission on October 3, 2022
- FY22 Investigator-Initiated Research Award - Pre-Application: June 23, 2022, submission on October 3, 2022
- FY22 Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award - Pre-Application: June 23, 2022, submission on October 3, 2022
- FY22 Clinical Trial Award - Pre-Application: June 23, 2022, submission on October 3, 2022
FUNDING:
- FY22 Early Investigator Research Award - Anticipated total costs will not exceed $320,000 for 2 years period of performance
- FY22 Investigator-Initiated Research Award - Anticipated total costs will not exceed $1.0M for 3 years period of performance
- FY22 Exploration-Hypothesis Development Award - Anticipated total costs will not exceed $250,000 for 2 years period of performance
- FY22 Clinical Trial Award – Two funding levels depending on the scope of the proposed research:
- Funding level 1: $1.6M for 3 years
- Funding level 2: $4.5M for 4 years
ELIGIBILITY: EPFL researchers are eligible to participate even though criteria related to the experience of the PIs should be checked. All investigators at or above the level of postdoctoral fellow (or equivalent) are eligible for the Early Investigator Research Award.
HOW TO APPLY: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. Full applications will be made via a Grants.gov workspace. Full application packages can be downloaded from Grants.gov at any time.
