Dr. Cooper will discuss the general challenges of artificial photosynthesis ...
Event organized by Prof. Raffaella Buonsanti
By Dr. Jason K. Cooper, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Bio: I am a Research Scientist at the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (JCAP), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where I study new materials in development for solar water splitting (H2O + hv --> H2 + 1/2O2) as well as CO2 reduction. My primary focus is in understanding the electronic structure of these materials using spectroscopic and computational methods. My research goals are to better understand carrier physics in these new materials in an attempt to improve processes such as carrier recombination, transport, and energetics favorable for solar water splitting and CO2 reduction to liquid fuels.
