Come and discuss the future of Open Science trainings on campus in this new edition of EPFL Shapes Open Science: training the next generation of scientists.

As the momentum behind Open Science continues to surge, it's imperative for researchers to acquire the necessary skills to disseminate their findings globally and foster effective collaboration. Whether it's good practices in Open Source Software for computational scientists or embracing Open Research Data and methods in experimental sciences, proficiency in Open Science is crucial across all fields. At the heart of this transformation lies the imperative to train the next generation of scientists, who will shape the future of academia.

From library training courses to dynamic student-led summer schools and the integration of OS principles into disciplinary courses, myriad pathways exist for spreading the essential skills needed for young researchers to flourish in an Open Science ecosystem.

Yet, despite the plethora of resources available, they often remain scattered and lacking in visibility. This begs the question: What is the most effective approach to ensuring widespread adoption of OS practices on campus?

This interactive roundtable event will discuss the different needs across campus and ways we could bridge those gaps, for a more sustainable future in research.
