            "description": "<strong>Aim: </strong> To encourage young scientists to focus their work on research into paraplegia, IRP invites junior researchers to submit applications for an <strong>IRP Postdoctoral Fellowship.</strong><br>\r\n<br>\r\nIRP offers two types of support:\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>A fellowship for up to 2 years in an outstanding basic research laboratory specialised in <strong>one or several aspects of CNS and spinal cord lesions and repair</strong>, preferentially in mammals. A 3<sup>rd</sup> year may be attributed to a fellow who returns to Switzerland from abroad.</li>\r\n\t<li>A 1-year fellowship in a clinical research laboratory focusing on<strong> diagnosis and acute lesion management of spinal cord injury</strong>, including surgery, neurology, urology, rehabilitation, and other areas related to paraplegia.</li>\r\n</ol>\r\n<strong>Funding</strong>: Living allowance: CHF 70K per year<br>\r\nResearch &amp; travel allowance: Up to CHF 9K  per year<br>\r\nFamily support and child allowances: Available depending on individual circumstances<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Duration</strong>: 2 years (potential for a 3<sup>rd</sup> year based on personal circumstances)<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Eligibility:</strong> The call is open to researchers in Switzerland aiming to study abroad, or to researchers from abroad aiming to pursue their academic career in Switzerland. Applicants must have a research doctorate (Ph.D.) or a doctoral degree in medicine (MD) and must have at least one lead author article published or accepted for publication.             "description": "<strong>Aim: </strong>This call for proposals solicits basic or early-stage translational research addressing the fundamental aetiologies and mechanisms of sporadic FTD. For this RFP, sporadic FTD is defined as FTD that develops without an identified known causal gene mutation. Projects must have clear relevance to sporadic FTD; studies using <em>GRN</em>, <em>MAPT</em>, or <em>C9orf72</em> models must explain how their findings will inform sporadic FTD beyond known genetic causes.<br>\r\n<br>\r\nThe program will fund its fourth annual cohort and seeks bold, rigorous, collaborative, and catalytic projects that broaden foundational knowledge of FTD and spur diagnostic and therapeutic advances. Responsive topics include basic biology; computational, AI, and data-driven approaches; biomarker discovery and validation; neuroimaging; proteinopathies; neuroinflammation and non-neuronal cells; environmental factors; novel risk factors and disease pathways; and innovative experimental models. Investigators from outside traditional FTD research fields are encouraged to apply, provided the team includes sufficient expertise in FTD biology.<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Duration</strong>: 2 years<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Funding</strong>: up to $500,000<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>Eligibility: </strong>Applicants can be based at eligible nonprofit academic or research institutions worldwide, including public or private universities and related research institutions; certain governmental agencies with active biomedical research programs may also apply. The PI must hold a PhD, MD, or related research doctorate and be an <strong>independent investigator </strong>as defined by the host institution. Early-career and newly independent investigators are strongly encouraged. Multidisciplinary collaborations are welcome, but one corresponding PI and one submitting institution must be designated. Institutions may submit multiple proposals, provided each is led by a different PI. Current Kissick Family Foundation FTD grantees may not apply as PIs or co-investigators.<br>\r\n<br>\r\n<strong>How to Apply</strong>: Applicants must first submit a letter of intent through the <a href=\"https://milken.smapply.io/prog/ftd_grant_program/\">SPARC</a> online grant portal. <strong>LOIs can be maximum 750 words</strong> and should include the project title and PI name, indicate the scientific priority area, and present a succinct description of the proposed research approach. LOIs must be single-spaced, use a legible font of at least 11 points, and have one-inch margins.. Projects that are in scope and that propose rigorous, innovative research studies with significant potential to further our understanding of sporadic FTD may be invited to submit a full proposal; notifications will be sent around mid-December.             "description": "<strong>The EPFL AI Center and the Swiss AI Initiative have launched a Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme to give outstanding and highly motivated young postdoctoral researchers the chance to collaborate with EPFL Faculty members and to conduct research to further the capabilities and applications of AI techniques in a variety of scientific domains. The 3<sup>rd</sup> call is now open with a submission deadline of 9 November 2026 17:00 (CET). </strong><br>\r\n<br>\r\nFellows will work with several laboratories at EPFL and will be granted ample freedom to develop their own research agenda.             "description": "<strong>Biodiversa+ is launching a new call for projects addressing biodiversity and novel ecosystems. Swiss-based researchers can participate.</strong><br>\r\n<br>\r\nThe call supports transnational, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and innovation, bringing together diverse scientific fields, business and finance. Projects should connect science, society, policy and practice to drive transformative change, actively engaging stakeholders and citizens throughout the process.<br>\r\n<br>\r\nThe call is arranged into three main topics that partly overlap.
