Event details
| Date | 10.11.2026 |
| Category | Call for proposal |
Biodiversa+ is launching a new call for projects addressing biodiversity and novel ecosystems. Swiss-based researchers can participate.
The call supports transnational, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and innovation, bringing together diverse scientific fields, business and finance. Projects should connect science, society, policy and practice to drive transformative change, actively engaging stakeholders and citizens throughout the process.
The call is arranged into three main topics that partly overlap. Project proposals can address one or more of these main topics;
Topic 1: Novel ecosystem functioning
Topic 2: Pathways to novel ecosystems
Topic 3: Biodiversity benefits and equity in the context of novel ecosystem
Supported by the SNSF
For additional information about the call, please refer to the Biodiversa+ or SNSF websites, or contact the EPFL Research Office.

Supported by the SNSF
- An international panel will scientifically evaluate the pre-proposals and full proposals.
- With the exception of self-financed partners, all research partners in a consortium will be supported by their own national or regional funding agency.
- Swiss-based researchers applying for financial support from the SNSF to participate in this call must meet the eligibility requirements for SNSF Project Funding.
- Along with the application to Biodiversa+, they must submit an administrative application to the SNSF by the same submission deadline.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the SNSF Administrative Offices in advance if this will be their first time submitting an application to the SNSF.
- The calls of the Bilateral Programmes of the Swiss Confederation, Belmont Forum calls, as well as, starting from now, the European Partnerships and other multilateral initiatives, are not considered as Project Funding grants and are therefore not subject to the restriction of the maximum amount of parallel running grants.
- Even when the limitation in Project Funding is reached, an applicant can submit a project within these instruments, providing that there is no scientific overlap between all the projects and that the applicant is able to substantially contribute to all of them.
For additional information about the call, please refer to the Biodiversa+ or SNSF websites, or contact the EPFL Research Office.
