About David Brown

  • Talk's title: Swiss startups in the age of AI
  • Bio: David Brown has a general engineering and ICT background. In the 1990s he built Internet infrastructures/networks for ISPs & multinationals, in the 2000s he cofounded an Internet marketing platform (sold to AOL), then in the 2010s onward as a active Angel investor in Swissdeep-tech focused on “platforms” and platform components (SECA Swiss angel investor of the year in 2016), startup board director (Flyability, Akselos, Goodwall, Inofea), Innosuisse innovation council (in both engineering and ICT subgroups) and Bridge (SNSF/Innosuisse) PoC chair.

About Romeo Bütler
  • Talk's title: The VC perspective on startups and valuations. 
  • Bio: Romeo is a Partner and CIO at Verve Ventures. Verve Ventures is a Pan European Deeptech Seed Stage Fund. He started to work at Verve Ventures in 2016. Romeo has a bachelor in Biotechnology and Bioengineering and a master in Management, Technology, and Economics both from ETH Zurich. He invested in 26 companies across different sectors, always focusing on technology driven companies. He is operationally involved as a Board member on several Verve portfolio companies.
