Event details
Date | 31.10.2019 |
Category | Call for proposal |
Founded in 1958 and based in Davos, the AO Foundation is a medically guided, not-for-profit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
The Foundation’s Development Incubator (AODI) supports inventors with the finances and know-how they need to build and execute project plans towards a proof of concept in the treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. AODI projects are heterogenous in terms of their technology and investment readiness levels. Some have just a prototype, some already have lab results, some have patents and some are just ideas, but all of them have in common the prospect to bring innovative patient care solutions to the market.
The area of focus for this call is improvement in patient care as it applies to orthopaedic trauma, spinal conditions, craniomaxillofacial surgery and veterinary surgery. Proposals on the following topics will be considered Out of Scope: surgical instruments, basic research (unless it translates into product development), education and pharmaceuticals.
Who can apply: no restrictions
Funding and duration: up to USD 3 million over 5 years.
Deadline: 31 October 2019 (annual call)
