In algebraic geometry, Hodge theory usually applies to quasi-projective varieties. In this talk, I will motivate the search for a kind of Hodge theory applied to functions on such varieties, started by Deligne in 1984. I will emphasize the behaviour of the "twisted logarithmic de Rham complex" recently introduced by Kontsevich, which is an analogue of the logarithmic de Rham complex. If time permits, I will indicate the relation with the theory of wild harmonic flat or Higgs bundles introduced by T. Mochizuki.
