To understand the Brauer-Manin obstruction coming from an Azumaya algebra on a variety over a number field, we need to understand the evaluation maps at each place. These appear to be largely governed by the geometry of the reduction of the variety at each prime. I will explain how this connection works, mainly in the case of del Pezzo surfaces. Time permitting, I will also show off some Magma code for computing Azumaya algebras on surfaces.
