The last decade has seen an impressive development of the research dedicated to biomedical applications of low temperature atmospheric pressure plasmas. In this new trend, the medical applications are tacking an increasing place. They now concern a wide range of domains, including blood coagulation, dental care, skin decontamination, wound and ulcer treatment, dermatology, cancer treatment. Biological applications are also now extending to agriculture and to cosmetic. After a presentation of the context, the plasma devices, and the main applications, considering the specific case of cancer treatment, we will go through what have been already demonstrated, what problems are encountered and what are the main challenges in front us.
