Aim: CHIST-ERA is a consortium of research funding organizations - among them the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) - which are supported by the European Union’s Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme as an ERA-NET. CHIST-ERA funds transnational research projects addressing long-term Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and ICT-based research challenges and promotes multidisciplinary research with a potential to lead to significant breakthroughs. The two topics of the coming call are:
1. Object recognition and manipulation by robots: Data sharing and experiment reproducibility (ORMR)
2. Big data and process modelling for smart industry (BDSI)
Proposals must be submitted by international consortia with research partners in at least 3 distinct countries (additional partners from other countries may be part of a consortium if they can secure their own funding). CHIST-ERA provides a Partner Search Tool for submitting Expressions of Interest (EoI) by filling-in a webform. Each consortium partner is funded separately by its national funding organization, SNSF for Switzerland. Applicants must contact their national coordinator prior submission in order to verify their eligibility (chistera@snf).
Funding and duration: Funding (amount): SNSF overall budget is 1’000’000 CHF, with the aim of 4-8 projects to be funded
Duration: 24 to 36 months
Deadlines: Submission deadlines: pre-proposal submission deadline on January 11th 2018; full proposal submission mid-May 2018.
