Aim: The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) invites exceptional early career researchers from across the natural, biomedical, and social sciences and the humanities to join one of their interdisciplinary research programs that address some of the most complex questions facing the world today. Scholars’ research interests must be aligned with the themes of an eligible CIFAR research program. In 2020, the eligible programs are:
CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars remain at their home institution and country throughout their two-year term. The research funding associated with the award is administered through the recipient’s institutional department.
Funding: CAD $100,000
Duration: 2 years, starting 01-Jul-2020
Eligibility: Applicants must hold a PhD and be within the first five years of a full-time academic position (i.e., an appointment beginning no earlier than 1 July 2015). Must be able to demonstrate an outstanding level of research achievement and promise of future impact in their field.
How to Apply: Applications are made through an online application system, and include a Summary section, a Detailed section, and two to three Letters of Reference. Note that the letters of reference must be submitted independently on the platform by the referees, and are also due by the application deadline. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a two-day selection meeting in Toronto, Canada on June 18-19, 2020; shortlisted candidates will be notified no later than 06-Apr-2020.
