Aim: The DARPA Information Innovation Office (I2O) is launching a Broad Agency Announcement entitled ASSURED AUTONOMY. The goal of the program is to create technology for continual assurance of Learning-Enabled, Cyber Physical Systems (LE-CPSs). To this end, they solicit innovative research proposals to substantially improve the design, integration and verification of technology for continual assurance of autonomous LE-CPSs, guaranteeing their safety and performance. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems.
Funding: No set maximum
Duration: Approximately 4-5 years
Eligibility: DARPA welcomes engagement from all responsible sources capable of satisfying the Government's needs, including academia (colleges and universities); businesses (large, small, small disadvantaged, etc.); other organizations (including non-profit); entities (foreign, domestic, and government); FFRDCs; minority institutions; and others.
Non-U.S. organizations and/or individuals may participate to the extent that such participants comply with any necessary nondisclosure agreements, security regulations, export control laws, and other governing statutes applicable under the circumstances
Application: Researchers are highly encouraged to submit an abstract in advance of a proposal to minimize effort and reduce the potential expense of preparing an out-of-scope proposal. Feedback will be provided as to whether the proposed research avenue is of interest to the program. Abstracts are not, however, required before submitting a full proposal.
