DEEP ECOLOGIES - Machine Learning in Architecture and Urban Design
Deep Ecologies is part of the Ai + Architecture lecture series organized by the Media and Design Lab, focusing on the creative and generative role that Machine Learning can have on architectural, urban, and territorial design and research.
For the first session, titled Deep Ecologies, we invite Enriqueta Llabres-Vals and Maria Kuptsova to present and discuss their work related to methods, findings, and concepts related to Machine Learning at an urban and territorial scale.

About the presenters:
Enriqueta Llabres-Valls is an architect and a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the Bartlett UCL; She is co-founder of the Relational Urbanism practice and pf LlabresTabony Architects and a TEDx Fellow. She graduated from UPC Barcelona with a master in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics. In 2009, She founded in London the experimental research-based practice Relational Urbanism, a practice awarded. She has taught at The Berlage Institute in The Netherlands and in the Department of Landscape Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design. Since 2012 Enriqueta Llabres has been leading with Zach Fluker the Urban Design Research Cluster 18, Fab&Media Urbanism in the Bartlett BPro Program, University College London.
Maria Kuptsova [http://mariakuptsova.com/] is an artist, researcher, and educator in transdisciplinary art and architecture. She explores synthetic forms of intelligence in her research and artistic practice. Maria is a research associate and doctoral candidate at the Synthetic Landscape Lab, Institute of Urban Design, University of Innsbruck. She is a senior lecturer at the ITMO University in St-Petersburg, as well as an artist and curator within the art initiative –Digitocene.Net
