In this talk I will discuss how the Donaldson-Thomas
invariants for a quiver, as introduced by Kontsevich-Soibelman, are
related to counting certain trees. The defining properties of these
trees are dictated by the shape of the quiver; loosely speaking, the
trees could be interpreted as representations of the quiver over the
finite field F_q in the q=1 limit.
