Abstract:
Silicon carbide (SiC) power MOSFETs are potential enablers of disruptive progress in solid-state electrical power conversion. The technology has matured significantly over the past few years, now enabling meaningful deployment in application.  This talk will review expectations and reality and discuss bespoke power converter optimisation and still open robustness and reliability issues.  Devices in voltage classes ranging from 650 V up to 3.3 kV will be considered.
