[ EPFLglobaLeaders - A new doctoral fellowship programme for the next generation of sustainable science leaders ]

EPFLglobaLeaders is a new doctoral fellowship programme funding early stage researchers to become leaders in the transition towards sustainable societies. Forty-eight doctoral fellows will benefit from a multifaceted training programme, including a secondment in the non-academic sector.

EPFLglobaLeaders has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 945363.

What:  4-year doctoral fellowships. The EPFLglobaLeaders fellowship consists of a monthly contribution to the salary of the doctoral candidate of EUR 1’935.

Where: Research funded by the EPFLglobaLeaders programme must be conducted at the EPFL campuses in Lausanne, Geneva, Neuchâtel, Valais, or Fribourg.

Eligibility:          
EPFLglobaLeaders is open to applicants of any nationality provided they fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) before they sign their employment contract.
• Applicants must be Early Stage Researchers (ESR): by the time they sign their employment contract, they must not have completed more than four years of full-time research, and they must not have been awarded a doctoral degree.
• Applicants must fulfil the MSCA transnational mobility rules and must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.
