The goal of the Frick Foundation for Research on ALS is to encourage basic biomedical research to understand the basic causes of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
 
To this end, the foundation launches annual calls to support, anywhere in the world, two-three talented early-career scientist per year in their path towards scientific independence.
Note: these awards are NOT directed to clinically related projects for patient care.
 
Who can apply:

  • early-career scientists who have already produced excellent supervised work, ready to work independently and showing potential to be research leaders.
  • Any nationality
  • 5 years of experience since completion of their PhD
  • Employed at a public or private research institution anywhere in the world.
 
Funding and duration: CHF 100’000 for 24 months
Note: does not cover the applicant’s salary and overheads.
 
Deadline: 30 September 2019
Decision: December 2019
