Homological complexes of graphs are some of the most fundamental and mysterious objects in homological algebra. They arise naturally in physics, algebra and topology and play central roles in these fields.
However, despite several decades of study, little is known about what the graph homology actually is.
We give a short introduction to the problem and its topological and physical origins, and progress obtained in recent years.
