Big data is a core element of the digital transformation. At the DataSquare pavilion in the northern part of the ArtLab building, you can learn all about big data and how it’s being used in science, in fields ranging from medicine to history.
DataSquare is a permanent exhibition showcasing two of EPFL’s most important research projects: the Blue Brain Project, which aims to build a simulation of the human brain using a vast collection of clinical and neurobiological data; and the Venice Time Machine, which is piecing together nearly 1,000 years of Venice history by digitizing over 80 km of ancient manuscripts.
