Abstract: Let M be a finite von Neumann algebra. We consider an
infinite dimensional homogeneous space of the unitary group of M, and
we endow it with the Finsler quotient metric induced by the p-norm of
M. We will discuss the problem of finding curves of minimal length on
these type of homogeneous spaces.
