Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is now at the heart of all medical and technological developments. Is the future of cardiovascular medicine in the hands of AI or do we still need translational teamwork between engineers and medical doctor to build the future?

Bio
Didier Locca is a Swiss-board certified cardiologist with sub-specialisation in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular MRI and expertise in translational cardiac regenerative medicine.

He received his medical degree and doctorate from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and obtained a european board certification in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance from the Royal Brompton Hospital, NHIL, Imperial College London.

He is a former Consultant at Barts Heart Centre and Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University London (UK) and has been promoted Reader in 2023 at the William Harvey Institute, Centre for Cardiovascular Medicine and Devices, Queen Mary University London. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Didier Locca is a member of several European societies for cardiac interventional cardiology and advanced imaging. He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board and Core Curriculum Member for Cardiovascular Translational Research of the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research (ISCTR). He is an official member of the Swiss Society of Cardiology (SSC) and past president of the cardiology society of the Canton of Vaud.
