Join Edward Andò and Florian Aymanns for an engaging lunch session on photogrammetric reconstruction, where they will explore the theory and practical application of turning images into 3D models.

The session will begin with an introduction to the camera model and its components, followed by a discussion on measuring and inferring camera parameters from images. The presenters will then explain how multiple cameras can be combined for robust reconstructions. To round out the theory, participants will receive an overview of key concepts in 3D modeling, including point clouds, meshes, and textures.

In the second half of the session, we’ll move from theory to practice with a live demonstration using Meshroom, a popular open-source photogrammetry tool.

This lunch is ideal for researchers who face challenges in photogrammetric reconstruction and want to deepen their understanding of the process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Grasp the fundamental theory behind photogrammetric reconstruction.
  • Understand practical applications through a hands-on example using Meshroom.
Prerequisites:
  • Basic knowledge of linear algebra and trigonometry.
