A group for industrial plasma applications was started 24 years ago by Christoph Hollenstein and myself.
I will concentrate here on my experience in large area plasma research for the photovoltaic solar cell and flat panel display industries. A summary of the results will give an example of what can be achieved in a small group, along with some comments on solar power and the ups and downs of industries.
Following the departure of Christoph, the group has joined the basic plasma physics group - the current and future applications work programme will be described.
