Abstract: We will present the use of left- and right-invariant metrics on the group of diffeomorphisms in computational anatomy. We discuss some limitations of the model for statistical purposes and propose solutions to overcome those problems. This talk will use standard tools from Riemannian geometry and geometric mechanics.
