Every year the School of Life Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) holds a major international symposium on its campus: the EPFL Life Science Symposium (LSS). Next year's edition, the LSS2012, will be organized by the Global Health Institute (GHI). It will take place August 29th -31st, 2012 under the title "Global Health meets Infection Biology". This two and a half-day event is structured around four core themes that will each feature several high profile speakers from around the world: • Global Health • Evolutionary genomics of pathogens and their hosts • Mechanisms of infection • Innovative interventions
