An introduction to condensed mathematics and analytic geometry
Abstract :
In joint work with Peter Scholze, we have developed a different formalism for describing the kinds of mathematical objects which arise when algebraic and topological structures get mixed (for example, topological vector spaces). I will present this approach and discuss how it naturally gives rise to new foundations for analytic geometry, allowing much more general types of "spaces" than previously considered.
