Aim: The ultimate aim of the Michael J. Fox Foundation is to “eliminate Parkinson’s disease in our lifetime”. Their funding strategy strongly emphasizes translational and clinical research, and to this end, they offer support in three broad categories:
Funding: Budgets set by sub-category: target advancement (100,000 USD per project); therapeutic development (100,000-500,00 USD for pre-clinical projects, negotiable for clinical projects); improved biomarkers (4 million USD for all projects; no budget limit)
Duration: Target advancement projects have a 1-year duration; others do not have stated limits, but must provide a timeline.
