In the context of the post-industrial European cities where inner urban development is seen as a priority, this research develops a methodology for assessing urban renewal strategies at the neighborhood level. The aim is to offer to public authorities a new decision making tool for urban planning of the existing built fabric. The new methodology, named URBIUS, gives an indicators system for a comparative assessment of urban renewal scenarios of existing neighborhoods. Four case studies have been also carried out on representative neighborhoods.
