In this talk I will first discuss recent studies from my lab on natural gaze guidance in learning from video modeling examples, in which a human model can be seen demonstrating and explaining how to perform a task. In these experiments we investigated whether or not seeing the face and gaze of the model would help or hinder learning. Then, our work on artificial gaze guidance in eye movement modeling examples, which show a screen-capture of the model’s (actions on the) computer screen with his or her eye movements overlaid, is presented; more specifically we investigate whether or not these are effective for acquiring procedural problem-solving skills.
