What tools and modes of thinking challenge anthropocentric perspectives of the city? This lecture series explores new approaches to understanding, visualizing and designing for urban biodiversity. Architects, artists, and technologists will discuss innovative methods for integrating wildlife and human habitats.  

Inês Dantas is an architect and environmental designer working with interdisciplinary frameworks. She is co-founder of WUDA* in Munich, developing design, architecture and eco-urbanism projects. She studied architecture in Coimbra University, Politecnico di Milano and holds a PhD by Design from the University College London. Parallel to her practice, Inês has taught and lectured in different universities such as Innsbruck University, University of Brighton, Architectural Association Visiting School in Singapore, Rizvi College of Architecture in Mumbai and Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Currently, she teaches Architectural Design and Participation at the team of Francis Kéré at the Technical University of Munich, formulating social design briefs around the world. Inês heads the sustainable design project 'Cool Islands' of environmental and cultural adaptation for cities/urban spaces. Her design and research projects have been published internationally and exhibited at MAAT Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, Unfolding Pavilion in Venice, Edge Arts, Arte Institute, Gallery Lothringer13 in Munich and London Design Festival. Her lecture is entitled "Experimental Green City: Designing with Trees, Stories and 3D-scanning."
