Non-integrability of open billiard flows and applications

We consider the open billiard flow in the exterior of several strictly convex domains in an Euclidean space and show that the standard symplectic form satisfies a specific non-integrability condition over the non-wandering (trapping) set of the flow. This allows to use strong (Dolgopyat type)estimates for spectra of Ruelle transfer operators under some regularity conditions. Applications of these estimates to analytic properties of the cut-off resolvent of the Dirichlet Laplacian in the exterior of the obstacles and to certain dynamica characteristics of the flow will be discussed.
