(joint with Lei Zhang) I will discuss our recent proof on nonvanishing of terminal threefolds in characteristic p>5. The strategy is built on the original work of Miyaoka, but of course we have to deal with new phenomena in positive characteristics. Fortunately, all these ingredients, including the necessary Simpson correspondence type results, are developed recently.
