Abstract:
I will present a recently introduced notion of lack of regularity for a function and show that it allows to prove that irregular functions have interesting analytic properties, in particular with respect to their role as perturbations in ODEs and PDEs where they have a regularising effect. In the stochastic literature this surprising behaviour is usually called “regularisation by noise” but here we will show how regularisation is an analytic phenomenon independent of a probabilistic model.
