[ SERI - Exchange of young researchers with China | Scientific exchange ]

The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) has commissioned ETHZ as Leading House for bilateral research collaboration with the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in all scientific disciplines.

ETHZ and CSC run the China – Exchange of Young Researchers Programme encourages follow-up activities between Chinese and Swiss partners after symposia, joint workshops or other initial joint activities. These grants shall enable mid-term personnel exchanges that are a first step to future more ambitious or more engaging joint research projects.

In particular, the China – Exchange of Young Researchers Programme allows Swiss senior researchers to host young Chinese scholars in Switzerland for 6-24 months.

The call is open to all scientific disciplines.

Who can apply:

• the Swiss Main Applicant must be a senior researcher holding a permanent position at an eligible Swiss institution. Note: The Chinese and Swiss partners must have set up initial contacts during a symposium, workshop, for a publication, the submission of a joint research proposal or alike.
• The young scholar must be PhD students or post-doctoral researchers registered/employed at an eligible institution in China.

• Applications must be submitted in parallel by the Swiss Main Applicant to ETHZ and by the Chinese applicant to CSC (https://www.csc.edu.cn/).
