Aim: The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MPS) division invites applications for its Targeted Grants in MPS program. The program is intended to support high-risk theoretical mathematics, physics and computer science projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a case-by-case basis.

Duration:      5 years

Funding:        Project-specific

Eligibility: Applications may be submitted by established U.S. and foreign public and private educational institutions and stand-alone research centers. PIs and co-Investigators must have a Ph.D. and a tenure-track or tenured position at said institutions or centers. There are no citizenship or department requirements for PIs.

How to Apply: Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through proposalCENTRAL; the LOI should include a research plan and a tentative budget. The deadline is rolling and an LOI can be submitted at any time. You will be notified of the LOI’s status within two months, at which time a full proposal may be requested. At the full proposal stage, a Signature Page will be required; contact the Research Office for the institutional signature.
