Are you interested in taking your research to Japan and working with leading groups in Japanese universities and other institutions?

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is offering Postdoctoral Fellowships for Overseas Researchers to citizens and permanent residents of Switzerland. All fields of the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences are included under the programme.

For a number of years, the SNSF has acted as the nomination body for the Postdoctoral Fellowships of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). In 2020, the SNSF can propose two researchers to the JSPS.

Who can apply:

  • Citizens and permanent residents of Switzerland.
  • Candidates must have obtained their doctoral degree within six years of the date the fellowship goes into effect (on or after 2 April 2014).
  • Persons who are Japanese citizen and foreigners who are permitted permanent residence in Japan are not eligible.

Duration: 12 to 24 months.

Funding: Round-trip air ticket; Maintenance Allowance ¥362,000 per month; Miscellaneous; A settling-in allowance of ¥200,000; Overseas travel insurance, etc.

Deadline: 14 February 2020 at 17:00.
Decision: June/July 2020.
Start the stay: 1 April 2020 – 30 November 2020.
