Geometry and Dynamics Seminar
Abstract: The goal of this talk is to illustrate two applications of how Spin Geometry could be used in the study of the geometry of submanifolds (The Alexandrov Theorem) and in General Relativity (Positive Mass Theorem).
For this, we start by giving an informal introduction to Spin Geometry, in particular to the fundamental Schrödinger-Lichnerowicz Formula for a compact spin manifold with boundary. We then examine spectral properties of Dirac type operators and establish some rigidity results. The talk is based on a joint work with Sebastián Montiel.
