Secondary lymphoid organs (SLOs) develop during embryonic life through tightly regulated interactions between hematopoietic lymphoid tissue inducer and stromal organizer cells. Moreover, stromal cells critically determine immune reactivity of hematopoietic cells throughout adult life. In this seminar, I will present a revised concept for SLO development and novel tools for the dissection of hematopoietic-stromal cell interactions in vivo.
