Sinergia promotes the interdisciplinary collaboration of two to four research groups that propose breakthrough research.
A consortium can consist of no less than 2 and no more than 4 applicants. If there are 3 or more applicants, one applicant can be based abroad.
Certain restrictions apply:
- only one Sinergia project per person and period, this includes co-applicants
- only one Sinergia application per applicant and deadline, this includes co-applicants
- SNSF professors may submit a Sinergia application 2 years after starting their SNSF professorship at the earliest
- Ambizione grantees are excluded for the duration of their grant.
Budget: min. CHF 50'000, up to CHF 3.2 millions in proportion to the number of participating research groups and duration of the project (typically CHF CHF 200’000 per year and research group)
Duration: 1 to 4 years
