swissuniversities invites you to collaborate across institutional and disciplinary boundaries in order to create strong synergies in the field of open access with an international focus. Please submit your project proposals in English to contribute to the success of the Open Access Action Plan, which aims for the Swiss research community to reach 100% of their publicly funded research publications freely available on the internet by 2024, supporting a mix of OA models.

The program is composed of different “Action Lines”. The activities that the program is funding have to take place in the period 2021-2024.

Eligibility: the list of eligible beneficiary entities, including EPFL, is available here. In particular, researchers, at all career levels, within Swiss higher education institutions, who are active in the development of OA solutions for one or more scientific disciplines, are eligible to apply.

Funding & Duration depends on the Action Line. Please have a look at the Implementation plan Open Access. Eligible costs: personnel, material costs for devices and equipment, other material costs. Requires co-funding.

Deadlines (depend on the Action Line):

• 15 January 2021 for “Setting up of shared services”, “Participation to international initiatives” and “Research Assessment”.
• 31 May 2021 for “Regulatory framework”, “National monitoring”, “OA National Fund” and “Alternative forms of publications”.
• Rolling call for “Communication & awareness raising”.
