Dark matter might be a weakly interacting particle near the electroweak scale. While most candidates are now excluded, a fermionic electroweak doublet with a thermal mass of around 1.1 TeV is the last of the simplest candidates standing. I will discuss how within a few years upcoming experiments can sharpen a mild but intriguing hint in the Fermi data, why the higgsino remains elusive to the LHC, and what opportunities the new trigger system can offer.
