The European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS), under Horizon Europe, supports coordinated research, capacity building, and innovation to develop sustainable, efficient, and inclusive health systems across Europe.
The third call, “Better Care Closer to Home: Enhancing Primary and Community Care,” will support projects that strengthen primary and community health and care systems.
Objectives
- Address common health challenges through coordinated solutions.
- Generate evidence to fill knowledge gaps.
- Implement and adapt innovative solutions across regions.
- Enhance stakeholder capacity with training, networking, and technical assistance.
Consortium
Eligible participants: Universities, research organizations, healthcare providers, companies (start-ups, SMEs, large enterprises).
Consortium Requirements: A THCS consortium must consist of at least three independent legal entities from different participating countries, including at least one from an EU Member State and two from either different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
Participation of Switzerland:
The Swiss National Science Foundation and Innosuisse act as funding agencies. The Federal Office of Public Health is part of the Partnership in the role of a policy observer and contributes thematic expertise
Swiss partners can lead projects.
Funding
- Research: 100% of eligible costs.
- SMEs/Start-ups (<250 FTE): 50% of eligible costs.
- Large companies (≥250 FTE): 25% of eligible costs.
Application Process
1. Pre-proposal deadline: January 30, 2025 (14:00 CET). Find the pre-proposal template here.
Acceptance of the preproposal will be communicated as of April 15, 2025.
2. Full-proposal dealine: Invited submissions on June 19, 2025 (14:00 CEST).
Funding decisions to be announced in October 2025.
