In this talk, we will introduce a trace identity for $\GL(n)$ by combining Fourier expansion of cusp forms and spectral theory on Eisenstein series. We will show this formula connects some automorphic $L$-functions with certain Artin $L$-series. Another application on a nonvanishing problem for $\GL(n)\times\GL(n)$ will be provided as well.
