Presentation of art residence at CERN, with artist Yunchul Kim and Helga Timko, PhD in theoretical physics at CERN. An event hosted by EPFL Archizoom and Artlab in collaboration with Arts at CERN.

Korean artist Yunchul Kim focuses on research towards new materiality, the artistic potential of fluid dynamics and metamaterials. During his residency at CERN, he looks at the possibility of controlling the propagation of light through colloidal suspensions of photonic crystals.

Helga Timko is a Staff scientist working at CERN since 2009. She holds a PhD in theoretical physics, and has experience in accelerator, computational, and plasma physics. Helga is the artist's scientific partner, and has been working with Yunchul Kim during his residency at CERN.
