Aim
The Bertarelli Foundation Catalyst Fund will support projects, with the mission to accelerate early stages of technology development towards therapeutic application, for diseases that affect the brain, the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, as well as the sensory organs.

The Bertarelli Foundation Catalyst Fund will support projects, with the mission to accelerate early stages of technology development towards therapeutic application, for diseases that affect the brain, the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, as well as the sensory organs.
Requirements
- Projects must be collaborative: each proposal should have at least one principal investigator from Campus Biotech and one co-applicant from the partner institutions (University of Geneva, HUG or EPFL) or other academic institutions of Western Switzerland (UNIL, CHUV, Uni Bern, SUVA Sion). Projects emanating from two groups hosted at Campus Biotech will also be considered.
- A preference will be given to new projects. Proposals to continue ongoing work in a laboratory will be less favorably reviewed.
- Projects likely to make a significant advance within the grant period will be favored.
- An annual progress report will be required, and continued funding will be conditional on demonstration of satisfactory progress
- Four to six projects will be funded, each with a duration of two years
- Budgets will be in the range of CHF 300’000 total per project
- Application deadline: October 31, 2017
- Earliest starting date of the project: January 2018
