The Conference honors Alan Weinstein and his contributions to mathematics. Weinstein has been one of the most influential figures in symplectic geometry, Poisson geometry, and its connections with mathematical physics and analysis in the past forty years. description Weinstein's fundamental contributions have shaped many areas of mathematics, and have inspired many others. This conference will be a forum to celebrate Alan Weinstein's fundamental contributions to mathematics, and to thank him for many years of mentorship; many of Weinstein's students and postdocs are now established figures themselves. The conference features lectures in subjects in which Weinstein has had a deep influence. Leading mathematicians will deliver lectures over a five day period. Funding is provided by a generous grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation, by EPFL and by the Bernoulli Center.
