The International Day of Light is celebrated on May 16th each year, which is the anniversary of the first successful operation of the laser in 1960. The goal of the day was set by UNESCO as strengthening scientific cooperation and harnessing its potential to foster peace and sustainable development.
We would like to celebrate this occasion with our EPFL community, thus it is a great pleasure to announce and invite you to participate in the "Hidden Light" photo contest!
The top three photos will be selected based on public votes and the winners will be warded with vouchers worth 200 CHF, 150 CHF and 100 CHF, respectively. The idea is simple: upload your photo related to the theme to the google form starting from now to no later than Saturday, 20th of May, 11:59 p.m. Feel free to interpret the topic as broadly and creatively as you want! The photos will be voted by the public. The three winners will be announced during the EPC special seminar that will be announced in the following days.
