The Federal Office of Transport (FOT) provides financial support for projects that contribute to the objectives of the Energy Strategy 2050 in Public Transport (ESPT 2050) programme.
Every year in January and June, the FOT issues a call for projects.
The programme takes into account a wide range of project types:
- Research and innovation projects
- Projects to promote good practice
- Projects in support of knowledge development and dissemination
The FOT Programme management team is available to applicants who are interested in discussing their project before submitting a grant application.
To apply for a grant, applicants must submit an 'Expression of Interest' form (in German and French), in which they present their project and its benefits to the ESPT 2050 programme.
Next call deadline is on 31 January 2026.
Applicants whose projects are approved will then be asked to submit a detailed project plan, on the basis of which the FOT will draw up the grant contract.
