Founded in Lausanne in 1980 by Rosy and Antoine Leenaards, former President of the Crown Cork Company, Fondation Leenaards supports people and institutions that are able to deploy creativity and innovation in the fields of culture, aging and biomedical science in the Lake Geneva region. Projects are selected on the basis of quality as well as their ambition to accommodate the rapid changes in today’s society.
 
Quality of Life 65+ (Qualité de vie 65+) is an annual thematic call of Fondation Leenaards. It supports research reflecting on how elderly people perceive the quality of their life, their place in society and on how they act on their well-being. Seniors’ point of view must be a central component of the proposed project.
 
Who can apply:

  • Researchers in the social sciences and humanities and interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Applicants must be employed at a higher education institution in French-speaking Switzerland.
  • Collaborations between researchers and field partners (e.g. associations) is strongly encouraged.
 
Funding and duration:
  • Max. CHF 450’000 for up to 36 months for research projects.
  • Max. CHF 50’000 for up to 12 months for exploratory studies.
  • Eligible costs: Personnel costs, equipment, consumables, travel, remuneration for participants in clinical trials/studies, ethics authorisations fees and other direct costs. Does not cover overheads.
